Maca is not a hormonal product. Instead, it stimulates the entire endocrine system to help our bodies produce normal amounts of hormones again. Saliva hormone assays have shown increases in hormone levels after only a few weeks of using maca, though levels of different hormones do not always rise evenly. Therefore, we suggest period hormone testing for menopausal or post-menopausal women using this product.
