DetailsA dual hormone test kit for measuring progesterone and estrogen (the two most prominent female hormones) - can help identify estrogen dominance, and deficient progesterone.
Here is the OTHER side of the estrogen-progesterone story, and even more reason to get your estrogen and progesterone tested:
I ran into an article on this subject on your web site, and I wanted to thank you, because I recently had exactly this experience, and I spent months of misery with extreme depression and most of the other symptoms you mentioned. I actually ended up at XYZ Hospital in PA, and at first they put me on even higher doses of oral Prometrium thinking I needed MORE (I had been using the cream for years). That about put me in the hospital with depression, and I knew something major had to be off and asked my family doc to run an estrogen and progesterone blood test. (I had requested that from my OBGYN and the hospital, but they said they dosed based on your response, and tests were worthless). The progesterone came back TWENTY times higher than it should have been. I am a testament to the importance of periodic testing especially if you are having unusually severe symptoms, and have certainly learned that "more is not necessarily better".
